To begin with, in this task an infographic was used as a visual material. Infographics are beneficial to demonstrate information. There are some points while making infographics. They should be in a proper form. For example, there is a need to make infographic easy to understand, visually appealing and has a meaningful order.
Thus, in this task we were assigned to do an infographic about legal and ethical issues in technology use especially in the teaching field. I choose cyberbullying as my main focus for this task. As teacher candidates this is one of issues that need to be paid attention. I believe that as 21th century pre-service teachers we should learn more about this issue in our pedagogical courses. I watched a short series about this issue. It's called "Adolescencce". In the series, we can clearly see that children are able to go too far when it comes to cyberbullying and its effects can be irrevocable time to time. To sum up, this is why I choose cyberbullying to make my infographic.
Cyberbullying is a type of harassment. It's not like physically attacking someone or humiliating them face to face, but the effects are quite hurtful for the victims who experience it. We can briefly define it as disturbing, humiliating, slandering or threatening a person or group online. Cyberbullies can do this by sending messages to that person, commenting under their posts on their accounts, or sharing posts that will harm them publicly.
I used Venngage as a tool when designing this infographic. Normally I use Canva for such assignments, but I wanted to try a new tool. I think its interface is easy and user-friendly. However, requiring a paid membership to download the infographic was not a student-friendly feature. Therefore, when designing this type of design again, I will use the Canva with free features.
